Welcome, Church! This week, John’s message is taking a closer look at the third commandment: you shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain” (Exodus 20:7, ESV). Partly, John is going to be speaking about what this means, but mainly we are going to be focusing on who God is and why we have been told to do this. As we prepare our hearts and minds to worship in this way, let us focus on the character and the heart of our amazing God, the God who created us, the source that sustains us, and one who calls us.
Voice of God – Dante Bowe ft. Steffany Gretzinger & Chandler Moore
“The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. Day to day pours out speech, and the night to night reveals knowledge. There is no speech, nor are there words, whose voice is not heard. Their voice goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world” (Psalm 19:1-2, ESV).
God is Love – Chris Renzema
Break Every Chain – Tasha Cobbs & Will Reagan
“‘I am the Alpha and the Omega,’ says the Lord God, ‘who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty’” (Revelation 1:8, ESV).
“I am the Lord, and there is no other, besides me there is no God; I equip you, though you do not know me, that people may know, from the rising of the sun and from the west, that there is none besides me; I am the Lord and there is no other. I form light and create darkness; I make well-being and create calamity; I am the Lord, who does all things.” (Isaiah 45:5-7, ESV).
“I am who I am” (Exodus 3:14, ESV)
