The Theology of Plastic, Chemistry, and Catalysis

Good morning, Church! This week, we are continuing to look at God’s work and presence in science, and today we are turning our attention towards plastics and chemistry. As we talk about the revolutionary substance that has assisted the creation of everything from prosthetics to Tupperware, let us remember and turn our praises to the facilitator of invention, creation, and chemistry: our God.

Build My Life – Pat Barrett

You’re Beautiful – Phil Wickham

“Praise the Lord! I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart, in the company of the upright, in the congregation. Great are the works of the Lord, studied by all who delight in them. Full of splendor and majesty is his work, and his righteousness endures forever. He has caused his wondrous works to be remembered; the Lord is gracious and merciful. He provides food for those who fear him; he remembers his covenant forever. He has shown his people the power of his works, in giving them the inheritance of the nations. The works of his hands are faithful and just; all his precepts are trustworthy; they are established forever and ever, to be performed with faithfulness and uprightness” (Psalm 111:1-8, ESV).

Voice of God – Dante Bowe

Wonder – Hillsong United

“Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand and marked off the heavens with a span, enclosed the dust of the earth in a measure and weighed the mountains in scales and the hills in a balance? Who has measured the Spirit of the Lord, or what man shows him his counsel? Whom did he consult, and who made him understand? Who taught him the path of justice, and taught him knowledge, and showed him the way of understanding?… To whom then will you liken God, or what likeness compare with him?” (Isaiah 40:12-14, 18, ESV).
